Waxing Black metallic Paint?

Although Pinnacle Souveran is an excellent choice for black paint, wouldn't it be better to use a wax that's geared more for metallics on black metallic? Or, any dark metallic for that matter?

I'm of the belief that preparation is the key with black paint. The LSP isn't going to magically give you spectacular results if you haven't successfully completed the prep work.

I've gotten really good results on my own black metallic vehicles over the years with a wide range of LSPs, including Meguiar's #26, Meguiar's #16, Klasse SG, Blackfire Wet Diamond, and Collinite 845.

I'm aware that prep work is important. However, some waxes tend to darken the paint. On dark solids that's preferable, but I'm thinking on dark metallics(or any color metallic), you want to use something more reflective to help the metallic flakes.

Even though it's an "oily" wax that can give a "rich" look on dark colors, Souveran looks fine on metallics; it's my wife's fave on her silver Audi. It looks different on different metallics (very different on my Jag than on the Audis), but I don't think you'd be disappointed.

If you overdo the "bright, reflective" look on black metallic it looks less-than-swell anyhow, if you want to nitpick. I have FK1000P on my Yukon's Carbon Metallic, and while others think it looks great I can think of some LSPs that'd look much better to my eyes. And yeah, Souveran would be one of those LSPs that'd look better, but no way am I gonna redo that big thing all the time; Souveran is strictly a beauty-wax IME.

IMO having owned two jet black cars and detailed countless black cars, the best finish for any dark color is a sealant then paste wax on top of that

And that sealant and wax is ?????????
