Waxes or Sealants?

So I was thinking today and realized that I don't completely understand the differences between waxes and sealants... When should one or the other be used, or is it just personal preference. I really fell in love when I first used BFWD but Im not sure if it is as effective as wax. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

This is all personal preferance and what you are looking for. If you are looking for durability most likely it will be a sealant but there are some long lasting waxes. Basically it's all personal preferance

It really is all about personal preferance but most people seem to apply a sealant for the winter and a wax for the summer. Also theres nothing wrong with a wax over a sealant ;)

Like these guys said it's preference. Most of the other opinions we are stating are minute in contrast with that fact.

Wax will allow dust and pollen to stick a lot worse then a good sealant. For that reason you may consider sealant during pollen season.

A lot of people use sealant during winter as was stated but in Florida winter doesn't affect the choice.

A good sealant lasts longer but wax may protect better in the short term for some types of contaminants. For the best protection seal and then wax.

Also the waxes and sealants of today are often times hybrids.

Alright guys, thanks alot! That all really helped. I'll be practicing with applying some BFWD and a layer of wax. I appreciate the help!

Just in case you dont know already, there is a cure time before you want to apply a wax over a sealant. 8-12 hrs is a safe bet.

I also prefer sealants (BFWD). It all depends on what catches your eye.
If you really want killer durability, try BFWD and top it with any of the Collinite products. Or for looks, you can top it with a nubba that you like. Whatever floats your boat.
