Wax Residue on the Trim / Molding

I got some of those wax residue on the trim/ plastic molding outside the window (those plastic around the window)



just read some articles on properautocare.com and they said use either Wurth Clean Solve and Eimann Fabrik Hi-Intensity Cleaner to clean then apply black again.



Just wondering if any of ur experts out there got any other good idea to fixing the problem



Also will the P21S total auto wash do the trick ?
 
I just got some Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer.

It removed the wax residue and restored the "new" look.

I dont know how long the look lasts as I just got it last week.

I think I got it at NAPA or AutoZone.
 
Look in my pic galery. you will see a pic of me rubbing peanut butter all over an Element. That was the only thing I got to take off Griot's Polish residue.
 
Eagle A2Z wheel cleaner. I've used everything else I could find over the years. Erasers, vegetable oil, peanut butter, tar removers, solvents, detergents, scouring powders, etc. A2Z was incredible for what it would remove, with no work.

Holy crap man that's a LITTLE harsh don't you think? Especially since it will inevitably run all over your paint...probably stripping the wax off in the process...yikes!



The peanut butter works great. Just use a toothbrush (not a stiffer detailing brush) and scrub it a little. Admittedly it takes a little work, but the results are worth it.
 
I'll second the Pink Pearl Eraser. And the dog won't eat it .. well most won't . Lot cleaner than P/Butter and a lot less money than the specialty products.
 
Meguiars Trim Detail is $4.00 . Since you are probably gonna put something on there anyway, might as well only have one step.

A2Z is designed for painted wheels, no it's not harsh on paint. Do this job during the cleaning phase and stop using a polish and wax that leave buildup on the plastic.



Like I already said, I've used peanut butter before. It's not impressive, and when compared to the results you get with A2Z, it's really not good.
 
Try Megs #39 or Top of the Line Deep Down to remove the wax.



Both of the above remove and do not cover up the stain. You may need to use a toothbrush for a little extra cleaning power.

I've had success removing wax residue in porous trim using 3M "Adhesive, Tar and Wax Remover" pn #03607 and a soft bristled toothbrush...
