wax residue on plastic exterior trim

Please advise. Purchased a new Volvo XC90 SUV (T6) and have put two coats of Canuba wax on it. No matter how careful I am in keeping the wax from getting on the exterior trim, it happens. I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on the trim but it just covers up the wax residue until I wash it the next time, then the wax residue comes back as a white haze. I have been advised to change my wax choice to P21S Carnauba wax (it is not supposed to stain the trim). In addition, utilize Einszett Plastic Cleaner on the trim to remove the wax residue.

Is there anyone out there that can assist???

Have you tried Alcohol (diluted 1:1)? I believe this will take care of it.

Some people have success with PEANUT BUTTER. ( The creamy type not the chunky). Apply, leave it for 10 minutes and wipe off.

But then you might have a problem with people licking your trim. :)

I find a good rub with some Megs APC+ removes wax residue very well.

You're correct about the P21S/S100 - it won't leave any residue on black trim.

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

In theory, apply masking tape to the trim (too time consuming)

Peanut butter oil only covers the wax up it won’t permanently remove it

Groit’s has a wax reside remover with a built-in foam applicator that works well (was a freebie).

~Hope this helps~

you could give some machine/engine oil a try, pour some onto a cloth and rub, i have had great success with this technique.
