I've tried many of the techniques presented over the years for dealing with white wax residue on trim, all with at best middling results. But I finally found something that really does the trick: Griot's Rubber Cleaner. I forgot I even had this sitting around, but found it a few weeks back and gave it a try. Wow, it really works. I had best success working it with an old toothbrush. The best thing about this product is that it has no oils or polishes to temporarily "cover up" the problem. So you dont have to wait X weeks for the cover up to disappear to see if it really worked/find spots you need to hit again. In a few minutes I was able to almost completely eliminate the old wax spots on pieces that I had previously given up on after trying various products with "black" in their name, bug and tar, peanut butter, AIO, etc. Just thought I'd share.
