Wax Product

Billy,
You can't go wrong with Boss' recommendation. I have a pewter colored truck as well. In addition to Boss' picks, I really like UPP, as stated by 2wheels, and AIO (AIO is my current favorite) for a base synthetic. For a wax topper I also like Pinnacle Signature Series wax (not Souveran; cheaper) as a topper over the synthetic. Lighter colors look better when you shoot more for clarity rather than the wet look. If your vehicle is several months old or more, you may want to look at SSR1 or similar light swirl remover. The good thing about that pewter color is that it hides swirls. Look close and you'll see some, so spend plenty of time on preparation. It will look great when you're done.

One last question.
While waiting the 24 for the coats should I wash the truck again before applying the next coat. What is ir rains in between too?

Thanks everyone for all the helpful responses.

billy,

Before you apply a coat of "anything" to the paint, the paint surface should be CLEAN! Use a QD, or wash/dry the vehicle................ whatever you need to do to get the surface clean........... even if it sits in a garage overnight it will accumulate some dust.
