Wax Product

I've been using Mother's Pure Carnuba Wax to detail my truck, but I'm sure the is a better product out there. Any suggestions?

Actually - Mother's Pure Carnuba is a really good product it gives a really great wet look and great depth..it's a bit of a pain to remove and powders like the dickens but it's a great carnuba
 
There are a lot of great carnauba waxes out there (P21S, S100, Natty's, Souveran, Trade Secret, etc). You just have to find one that suits your needs. Plus, remember that preparing the surface for wax is the most important part.

My personal favorite is Natty's.

Poorboys polish with carnuba is a great pre-wax, or megs DACP, I think I spelled that right. You have a light color so I doubt that you have many swrils to worry about.
 
I agree its great on its own but topped with a good paste wax that to me takes the paint to the next level!
 
Follow up question what is the advantage of using PwC over PP? I plan on topping it with Mother Pure Carnuba.

Pro polish is a straight polish used for lots of things, but on the paint its going to cut and not add any protetion. PB polish with carnuba (P-w-C) Is milder will take some swril marks out, but adds carnuba for luster and protetion. Follow that up with a sealant or wax and you wil have a kiler finish on the car!

On the pewter color, I would think that EX-P x 2 (or 3), then topped with Natty's would really make that color (and the metallic in it) stand out! :bigups

Keep in mind, that you need to do the best paint prep possible for maximum returns. That means your paint should be clean, bright, and polished (no swirls). Do whatever you need to do prior to the protective layers to get the paint prepped correctly, and you will be pleased with any number of combinations.
 
Mother's isn't the most durable carnauba out there. You might want to give S100 or Meguiar's #16 a shot if you want to stay with wax. For a sealant, I would recommend 4Star UPP from Dwayne.
 
What BOSS said about prep is the key to a great end product. You might want to think about clay as well, this way you will have a killer end result!

My paint right now is in really good condition, no visible swirls or scratches. It does however need a good clay job.

My plan was:
Wash
Clay
PP
EX-P
Wax

How long should I wait between PP or EX-P and wax coats?

Hey Boss. one more question for you.

When applying multiple layers of EX-P I was going to use my PC 7424 with a gray pad. Same with the wax. Am I on the right track?

For sealants you can apply the first layer with the PC but I would make the second and third (and how ever many layers you plan on stacking on there) by hand. The reason being the PC even with the soft buff can be a little more aggressive than doing them by hand (learned that trick from Steve@PB's himself!).Same goes for wax topper -

You can put the first coat of EX-P right on after you're done with the PP. Then, wait around 24 hours before applying additional coats of EX-P, or Natty's. Almost all waxes/sealants work best if given that 24 hour cure time.

As for you question on the PC, I think groebuck pretty much covered it........... use the PC to apply the first coat of sealant/wax, and then apply the rest by hand. In the case of EX-P or Natty's, you could probably get away with applying all the coats with the PC, as those products have little cleaning ability, and wouldn't remove that much product. Still, for maximum durability, appying the remaining coats by hand is probably best.
