Wax on windows - Old myth?

Guys, thanks for all the advice and it seems like lots of things work out real well on the windows, which I knew but the orginal question was "was it a myth in the 70's" that you should not get wax on glass or were the formulas so different that it did not work out.
 
I also vote for AIO!! It does remove stubborn water spots and bug guts very well!! I also top with OCW!! leaves the glass very slick and outlasts rainX and is much easier to apply!! If you do get streaking, simply mist with water and polish with a good lint free MF.
 
The waxes that I used in the 60's and 70's would streak like crazy when you tried to use your wipers if you put it on the windshield. I remember it being bad enough that you couldn't even see through the mess when it was raining. I don't recall which brands were the worst so I just avoided getting any of them on the glass. I was actually suprised when I found out on DC that you can use these newer products on the windshield without problems. I'm still using rainx though. I guess old habits are hard to break.
 
Another vote for AIO here. It does seem to last a long time on glass like six months. And it does not leave the wiper path line like RainX.



BTW I'm on of those elderly people who remember the 70's. I don't remember hearing that wax would make streaks on glass. The old paste waxes were hard to remove. Maybe people applied too much and didn't get it off.
