Wax Discussion ( primarily Carnauba - based )

I was quite shocked to watch the video of Anthony Orosco ( I believe he runs the company, Optimum right? ) uses so little product!



Now I think I got a list of superb carnauba waxes that lasts long :



ClearKote Carnauba Moose Wax, M16, Collinite 476S, AutoGlym EGP!

When you compare the #16 and the 476, the 476 has a touch more warmth, while #16 look a bit more neutral.



We can count in the EGP too, because it is a very warm looking, very durable and contains around 2% carnauba.

I never used EGP, but I'm a *big* fan of their Super Resin Polish. SRP topped with either #16 or Collinite 476S was always my go-to combo when I did cars for other people.



An old combo that I never tried is mixing SRP and EGP into a "cleaner sealant". People I respect used to like that, might be worth a try for some applications.



The #16 looks a bit brighter/overall better than the 476S. But I *sincerely* doubt that anybody would notice enough to care. Customers will be astounded by the beading and durability of the 476S. The #16 will impress in the same way, but not as much.

Thanks also for your thoughts between M16 and Collinite 476S! One of my pals can see such a difference, but then his car used to be a dull silver. LOL! :laugh:

Heh heh, yeah, my wife can see the difference too, and greatly prefers #16 on her silver Audi :D But on some colors even *I* am completely satisfied with how 476S looks, and I'm one very particular guy ;)



I bet you wouldn't regret it if you bought both waxes. A tin of either will last for a long, long time, especially the #16- I use so little that after numerous large vehicles I can *barely* tell I've used any wax at all, the tin still looks full.
