waterless?????

i have a few situations lately where people have wanted details but have such cramped parking that washing is impossible in the lot but are to far to bring here to work on them...........so are these waterless systems really safe? i mean i can use a mitt and water from my tank to get the heavy stuff off, but will the products really give that just washed look without 7 hours of towel work? i have looked at dri wash n' guard and a few others, i dont want a whole system just enough to "wash" the car and get it ready for polish etc. any help will be appreciated
 
In a word, yes.

Poorboy's Spray & Wipe has seen me through a few winters doing basically what you are talking about.
I would go to the DIY wand wash to knock off the big chunks, then finish up with S&W in the garage at home.

I have also used "Rinseless" washes several times and feel comfortable with them as well. I happen to use the DP 4 in 1 now, but I have also used the QEW with good results.

It may take you a few uses of either system to get some confidence in how they work. Buy some and try it on a section to see the results before you do the entire vehicle. If it doesn't satisfy you, you haven't messed up much. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how well they will work.

thank you very much i'm not sure on the dp 4 in 1 as to what that is or stands for forgive my lack of detailer slang:D .....i really could lock up some good clients with this because it's a large company w/ assigned parking and very tight so a waterless deal is really the only way to get there business and i have been asked by between 7-12 people if i plan on coming in and doing it there everyone else is turning them down due to not having room to wash (with water)
 
I have used both S&W & Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine.
Both work quite well, one of the things that you have to get over is a mental thing that you are just dragging a towel or wash mitt across a dirty surface, it really is lifting the dirt from the surface.

PB Spray and Wipe is great. It really will let you take care of a lightly dirty/dusty car.

Chemical Guys ONE is also getting good reports.
 
I have the DP 4 in 1 and have used it several times to do a waterless wash. It is amazing! It works great in cold weather. In fact, I filled my bucket with warm water last winter! I did not use an MF to wash with as the instructions suggested. I used a Shmitt and a Cobra Guzzler to dry.
 
We mainly use Optimum No Rinse and PB S&W in our mobile detailing business. Recently we have been using a lot of CG's One. If use them correctly you won't marr the paint. Also it is important to keep the microfibers clean, so you must flip to a clean side and switch to a new towel frequently.

For your situation I think a no rinse product will work a little better.
 
This don't apply to the original posters question but those who use the DP 4-1 if you have not tried it in your wash water then try it.
I add my soap and a ounce of 4-1 to my wash water and boy it is super slick.
I have been using the 4-1 as a QD 3 ounce to a 22 ounce bottle leaves the surface incredibly slick.
Bottle of QD cost from 6 to 20 bucks depending on what you buy and a bottle of this will cost 40 cents and works just as well and better than a lot of them.
 
This info is going to be very helpful to me seeing that Charlotte and surrounding areas are in extreme drought. Though business' have permission to use water I think I can convince more people to use me if I advertise being able to use less than 5 gallons of water.
