Waterless wipe down with newer carwash soap

The popular two bucket techniqe using the ONR or the one step spray and wipe technique (Meguiar Ultimate Quick Detailer UQD) are becoming very popular among environmentalists and car enthusiats world wide. Newer car wash soap formula advertises their lubricity and safety on waxed surfaces and clear coats. Would it be safe to assume that these car wash soap can be diluted and used as a waterless product? What would happen if I were to use car wash soap formula in place of UQD or ONR? Would I risk scratching the paint surface even if the paint is just dusty and not dirty with mud and debris?

I have used those products that way but being `soap` based they still require the rinsing off stage that ONR doesn`t. :)
