Waterfine with waterless wash.

Sooo pissed, I could buff a car dry.

Got home early today, decided to clean up my car... I filled my bucket with 3 gallons of water and my pesticide sprayer as well, so I can go ahead and do an ONR wash.

Well there is obviously a bit of standing water on the sides of the car and enough for it to slowly drain down my driveway. As I'm finishing with the wheels after the paint, a stupid team metro county official pulls in and begins to write me a ticket for using my hose during the water restricitons. I explained my ONR the best I could and how I wasn't using the hose, I even showed him my pesticide sprayer.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, I CHUCKLED IN HIS FACE! I was about to go apesh!t on this guy. He insisted that iw as using the hose and that he could see the puddle being drained from where I was washing....

The city will listen to me, they damn will...

The citation was $75. I could pay it and leave it alone, but I won't.

That really sucks man. I was just in florida for 4 days and it didnt rain one single time. What part are you in that there is restrictions? We were in Tampa at my fiances mothers house and everybody there had there sprinkler systems turned on every night and early morning.

Uh oh! I guess I'm getting up at 4 am Saturday to wash my car so that I'm compliance with the law!

Broward just enacted phase 3 restrictions which means watering the lawn only 1 day a week. That also applies to washing the car!

I hope you win so that there's proof that ONR is a drought-friendly product.

Anyone know if the manufacturers of these products are putting any effort into having their products certified for these types of restrictions?

There really aren't water restrictions in NJ but you should bring the bottle of ONR with you when you try to fight this.

On a side note, after trying DP 4-in-1 and ONR both in 32oz sizes, I just ordered myself a gallon of ONR. I cant wait till it's here!!!

Today I washed both cars. I quickly did the wheels outside for the BMW as the brake dust was very thick. Then I pulled it inside for a QEW wash on it and the beater.

We are down to 3 days a week here from 12 midnight to 10am.

Next door they just layed down $6k worth of sod, so they water all day. :dig

Fight it. I would do a writuep on the procedure and have some of the Literature of the product to back you up. Hell, get a written statement from David @ optimum about the no-rinse, hoseless wash.

I screwed up today and washed my car in the driveway. I forgot my day to wash was yesterday!!! Everyone was staring at me as they were driving by. There's also a big sign to report water offenders when you enter and leave our community too.

That is so dumb. Don't even get me started on the complete and utter ineptitude of government officials in Florida.

I have a LONG story about a speeding ticket I got in Florida that spans a period of 8 years. The fact that the story covers 8 years only hints at the complete inability of Florida state officials to get anything done.

Funny thing is, that with my use of only 4 gallons of water total (pesticide sprayer included) I could've bought 4 gallons of distilled water for under 3 bucks from the grocery store...

And wouldn't the same thing have happened to you? Or did you have the hose out and filled the bucket and sprayer up while you were in the driveway? I don't blame the "cop" for not believing you if you're there washing your car with one hand and the hose in the other, so to speak.

When we had water restrictions here, you were only allowed to water lawns or wash cars with gray water (rinse water from shower, clothes washing, dish washing, etc.) and were limited to 50 gallons per day per person water use (that was at the worst...they only put the per-capita limit in as the last resort).

I don't know what's going on in FL, but I presume gmblack3a is right, that if you can't wash, you can't wash (although maybe it skirts the law if you use bottled water).

Wow that's terribly unfair. I'm not sure if there are restrictions on washing in my area... I've looked it up; it states restrictions on lawn watering... but not a single note on washing. So I just try to wash and avoid people.

However, my community seems to be a place where people respect each other and don't "rat" on each other. So I am ok, at least for now.

No, I filled it with a faucet I have in the garage. Its filtered... The reason I mentioned the gallons of distilled water was that i would have the empty gallons to prove it to him... forgot to mention, my hose was reeled up and everything
