hi. i have a new ranger edge. it's black. i washed it last sunday and she was fine. i dried it off with an Absorber. it's kinda like a synthetic chamois or something. anyways i also waxed it with meguiar's gold class for clear coats. well, i washed it again today. and i tried a new way to rinse it off. i took the nozzle off the hose. well, there are water spots all over my truck now. i did the same thing as before aside from the free-flowing water. did i do something wrong? i heard that way was a lot better. also, is there a way to remove the spots aside from another washing? please help me out. my last vehicle was gold, so imperfections weren't that easy to see. thanks in advance

when you use the free-flowing water, did you let the water sheet off the surfaces? this usually takes most of the water away so all you have left is a few drops or puddles to dry up.

How long did you wait to dry the car? Was it hotter today then last time you washed? THis obviously affect how long it took the water to dry and casued the spots.

Maybe you can try some QD, but I doubt this will work. A glaze may help to cover up the spots so they are less noticible until next time you wash.

I take it this car is black. I think a wash bucket and zaino are going to be your new best friends.

Unfortunately, as you found out, black is very maintenance intense. You MUST dry immediately after washing, and keep it in the shade. Also, follow up the Absorber with an MF (microfiber cloth) or else QD the whole truck, and you should not have any streaks.

I am afraid another wash is the only answer, unless you would like to wax the vehicle again. The cleaners in GC should take car of it.

thanks you two. i went over the entire vehicle, then tried drying. the temp was about the same as it was sunday and i was in the shade. the thing is, the water sheeted but left really little droplets for some reason. i couldn't figure it out. i tried QD and it helped cover the spots up. but if you look close you can still easily see them. i think i might go back to misting with the nozzle then drying, just to see how it works. or maybe do one side spraying and the other free-flowing. either way, keeping this truck looking sharp is gonna be tough but a great learning experience. i'll be back with questions. thanks again
