Water spots on windsheild - only at night in rain

Hi folks. I did a search, there are dozens of threads on water marks on windows but I couldn't find anything that seemed to fit my case.



I've clayed the windows and cleaned well with Stoners. During the daylight they look immaculate, nice and clear. Tonight I was driving home from hockey and it was raining just a bit. The windshield was very difficult to see through, it was as if there were hundreds of ghost-like marks/spots obscuring my vision when the blade . It's getting a bit cool here at night so I turned on the defroster. Within a couple of minutes everything was clear again.



Does this sound like it's temperature related or are there some hard to see marks on the windshield. Any idea what they are and how to get rid of them?
 
try using a paint cleaner on the window with the PC, i've used scratchx with good results. also, DG makes...

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try. Is a polishing pad good enough or is it better to use something with more bite?

try the polishing pad first and go from there. the least aggressive approach first...
