Water spots on black Z71

My wife got her truck sprinkled on by a local business in the middle of a nice Oklahoma 98 degree day. It now has some serious water spots on the hood. I washed it with Zaino soap and that didn't do a thing. Then I used Menzerna IP with a yellow Lake Country 7.5 then FP with a white 7.5 pad. It looked OK that night, but not good. The next morning the spots are back. By spots I mean the outline of the water spots looked to be etched in the paint. The only other product I have is some 3M PII fine cut rubbing compound. What products work well for this problem? I have local access to Meguires products. Most anything else I would have to order. TIA.

I use the 3M Fine Compound all the time and it would take those water spots out. Work the compound into the paint to be sure that you remove the waterspot completely. Then I use Megs #9 to take care of the hazing that the compound may leave. I have heard that Megs #80 works the same way as the #9 but just has alittle more bite to it.
