Water spots and etching

We have had rain for the last 2 weeks. If it didn't rain all day if rained off and on and I didn't have time to wash my car durring those breakes. The first sunny day we had I washed and waxed my car and I noticed that you could still see where the water spots had been. I do everything by hand and was wondering what I should get to remove the spots polishes, aplicators and any tips you have would be great .

Well if you are gonna do it by hand, first try some 50/50 iso alcohol/water mix in some areas to see if that will remove them. Some people will say water/vinegar mix but I dont know the ratio since I dont use that method. In either case make sure you do it with care and wipe it up good right away. Another method is to use mild cleaner/abrasive polish such as Meg's ColorX (OTC) or Klasse AIO, both are hand-user friendly. If none of the above works then a stronger abrasive and machine polishing will be necessary. If that's the case then the rain etched into the clear coat pretty good then. Good Luck.
