Washing MFs?

For some reason I have the fascination of watching my MF towels being washed. And yeah I noticed woolite foams quite a bit but I only use up to the second line. Not too bad. But it was more of a question is that an appropriate soap for MFs.

lol I hope so I've been doing it for months.

when i have MFs that have soiled areas, i pre-treat them with an apc. PBs apc works really well.

i use micro-restore in warm and hang dry.

I thought putting the MF's in a dryer will destroy the "micro" part of the fiber? Kinda like putting a fleece vest in there...it'll singe it. I use low or no heat when drying mine...

But when washing, I usually use hot/cold or warm/cold with liquid Tide. No softeners in wash or dryer.

I don't put mine in the dryer either, for some reason it seems MFs dry alot faster than most fabrics. Might be the basement room I have my detailing stuff in is quite warm and dry :nixweiss

I've noticed the same thing...

I use MF's for more then car duty. I use a 24x16 as a hand drying towel around the house, and it airs drys alot faster then a typical cotton towel...

Maybe someone could start selling bigger WW MFs as bath towels :think2
Ha, it'll get stuck on that dry skin all the time;)

I use the MF's for more than detailing too...work great when Pledging the woodwork in the house:2thumbs:

'I mostly use Adam\'s MF towels. I wash them with liquid Tide Free in cold water.\r\n\r\nNo liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets, but have added vinegar to the rinse cycle occasionally to help improve softness.'

I have washed mine in our asko washer, which heats its own water (up to 210 degrees), using the tide fragrance and dye free powder. occasionally I will use a some white wine vinegar in the rinse cycle. When I use the vinegar, I'll just let it go throught another wash cycle with no detergent and hot water. I have found this to be the best way for me to keep mine clean. I just air dry my towels because I don't want them to find a stray bounce sheet stuck in the dryer. My wife has been taking a few of my MF towels here and there because they seem to do a better job of cleaning around the house than her regular cotton ones. I even use these to clean my baby because they are so soft.:rofl

^^^Didn't know you could get MF towels that size! Thanks for that!!

No kidding! I'd almost guess that its TOO big. I bet you'd find it harder to wring out and/or find yourself dragging it on the ground when trying to dry side panels or down low.

It is BIG, but I was surprised it was pretty easy to handle. It didn't get too heavy to handle as it got wet, like I thought it might, when drying a mini-van. It has so much area in which to absorb it never got saturated enough for me to wring it out! It won't replace my normal sized WW's, but it is hard to beat if you want to blot dry, especially if it's a large vehicle.

I use powdered tide on my front loader. Hot wash/Cold rinse and use the water plus feature and extra rinse feature.

Can I just wash microfibers like regular cloths, with regular Tide powder like this?:

I'm confused, many people here use different methods, so I just wanted to make sure if regular powder won't ruin the MF's.

Thanks.

The concern about using the powder is that the grains might not be completed dissolved by the end of the wash cycle and/or any possible residue that it'll leave...I think if you put them in with a heavy duty cycle along with an extra rinse, there should be no problem. But I use liquid, both for my clothes and MF's.

I agree, right on!
