Washed the car today, just one problem.

good point. :D Just like never having a car that's "too shiny":D

JayDub, I'll know my car's too shiny when it's so reflective that it actually merges with the background.;)

Thanks for the compliment Steven, I haven't been able to find "Clean Machine" for some time, I think they've either stopped making it or re-packaged and re-named it. I just checked the "Autoglym Car Care Guide" though and they claim that their "Engine Cleaner" product is non-corrosive and safe for use on painted and anodised surfaces so I think I might give that a try.

Ordinarily I would phone a dealer and ask their advice however this is Vauxhall we're talking about. Most Vauxhall dealers couldn't find their a** with both hands and those that could would just take one look at it, inhale sharply and proclaim that the a** needed replacing as it was "beyond it's normal serviceable life" then suggest fitting a new one as soon as they could get it from the factory. Normally 24hrs (24hrs Vauxhall time, 2 weeks Earth time).

I know what you mean about the Autoglym shampoo, I've never had a problem with it as such but I never feel really comfortable using it. It just doesn't really seem to do anything except create a couple of bubbles in the bucket. Where did you get the P21S from?

Thanks for the link Steven, I'll give them a try. I didn't realise we could get this stuff over here. I'm definitely going to order some of the insect remover as well, I was going to go to a Porsche dealer to get some but seeing as these guys supply Porsche with their stuff I may as well cut out the middleman. Also saves me having to wade through pools of my own drool in the event that they have any used 928s on the forecourt.

Couldn't resist posting this Lotus Carlton pic.

They've got to be joking, they topped out at 207Kph (128Mph) and you could almost hear the engine begging for mercy. I'm surprised the other guy didn't lose control of the car. It's difficult to steer when you're laughing that hard.
