wash

Dear Gang,
I've got a wash question. I use a bucket wash mitt, etc. I have had 2 others reccomend methods:

1) A soft brush on a long handle (Kind of like a push broom). several friends swear by it and tell me it won't strip the finish.

2) "Wand" car wash drive thru. I've seen some detailers use similar equipment. Just drive thru and use a high pressure sprayer to wash the outside. Effective?? OK on the finish?

Thanks.
Jason.

PS I own a 2002 camry and use Meg's 00 wash or "Gold Class" wash. I wax with gold class wax once every 2-3 months. I plan to switch to megs 26 soon. J

Welcome to the best site on the net for car care and detailing. If your sporting a mullet go to the head of the line.

Questino 1: I use a brush for the wheel well and some under carage but not on the paint, if you will. It can scratch the finish if it picks up dirt. Best thing to use is a natural sea sponge or a lambs wool mitt.
The wand that you see at those coin op car washes are good. I use them all the time, but beware of the hand held wands. You never know who used it before you. Could have been a guy wash the dirt off his 4x4 and there is a ton of dirt in it.

What I do use them to pressure wash any dust that is on the car. Most of the time its my own car. I wash them alot so its really dust that I'm trying to get off.
Hope that helps
