Wash/ Waiting to Polish??

I have a few cars to detail and would like to do them during the week and on the weekends. I was thinking of doing some cars when I get out of work on the weekdays but I know I would not be able to finish the full detail before it gets dark and I don’t have a garage to work in. So I know I would need 2 days to finish the car. What I was thinking of doing is washing and claying the car and then doing the interior and then the next day polish the car. That will work but the customer would have to take the car and use it and then the next day they would need to bring it back. If I was to just use a spray and wax on it would that be enough protection until I can finish??

Thanks
Mark

Hello! So are you dealing with full details I take it? Do you have a pc or buffer of some kind? My full details are taking me about 7 hours so im taking the step of getting a rotary because most of my time is spent polishing. Maybe you should get a helper. With 2 people you can both wash and clay pretty quickly and then one can do the interior and one can tackle the exterior. You will get less money but It will be less hassle for the client to come back the next day. If your client is happy then they can reccomend more business to you. If you decide to stay working solo a spray wax would be enough to last you overnight or a week or so.

That's what S&W is for. Unless your clients work on a construction site they won't get the cars too dirty in one day. Just S&W the finish when you get it back the second day and you'll be in the clear.

I'd reverse the detailing order, clean the inside frist then outside. I have done it this way and worked for me. Just be a bit careful about door jambs during the washing not to get clean fluids or water on the clean inside of the car.

Thanks,
I do use a PC and yes they are full details. I thought about that if it would be to much of a problem for the customer to bring their car back. If it is then i guess i would have to try and schedule them details for the weekends. I have asked my brother to help me out and he said he would. Thats what i thought about doing is once i get the cars back just S&W them and i would be good to go on the polishing. I hope one day to upgrade to a rotary but first start off with a harbor freight one. I have done some cars where i work on the interior first and then the outside, right now i am trying everything i can to try to make the job go faster but not cut the quality of the job out.
