Im debating between: Optimum Car Wash and Poorboys SS.

looking for most suds as from time to time I will be using it in a foam gun.

Thanks guys

I've used both DG 901 and Optimum Car Wash extensively. TBH, I really can't decide which one is better. They are both slick, clean well, and aren't that harsh on the LSP. I *think* Optimum has better suds regeneration, and may be a tad slicker. Its been since late last summer since I have used the Duragloss (currently using the Optimum), so take that FWIW.

If I were you, I would just buy whatever one is easier to find and is less expensive. The difference in performance between the two is negligible.

I believe Accumulator uses griots car wash soap. I may be mistaken, its been a long time. He is probably the undisputed king of the foam gun though.

I have not used the Optimum but the Poorboy's is a good product, price point is good, bottle goes a long way, smells good, foams nicely. In a foam gun I don't find too much difference between products,I find they all pretty foam well.

My favorite shampoo is the P21S Body Work Shampoo, it doesn't foam a lot on it's own but does well in a foam gun or foam cannon. The shine it leaves afterwards IMO is second to none. Downside is that you use a fair amount and the bottle is small at 500ml.

If you want something that price and quanity matters then I would use Poorboy's, if you want a brilliant shine, good foam with the gun P21S all the way!

Griot's is good, but pricey. Gotta buy it by the gallon.

I grabbed a bunch of Meguiar's Gold Class last summer on sale at WM. No probmems with it.

Might try Griot's one more time, though. Out of a foam gun, it works great as a clay lube.

I am currently using the Poorboys Super Slick and Suds and I am very happy. Suds last, a little goes a long way and it is very slick. The price is also good. I moved over from Mothers california gold and before that P21S body shampoo. All were good but the Poorboys for me ia the best value,(Value=Performance I need at a fair price) All the above car washes worked fine for my needs. I purchased a foaming attachment for my Karcher PW and hope to experiment with it by next weekend.

Well, I think you and I have covered this before and concluded that the Griot's could very well be the best per your specific technique. For me, I'm kinda at the point where I'd say there is almost no comparison between the two.

FWIW, I purchased something called the "new" or "upgraded" formula about a year ago, quart size. This gallon I just purchased is different compared to that product. It smells different, seems even thicker and the lubricity factor is just off the charts. I get away with using about 30% less soap than the Griot's..this Optimum product is truly concentrated.

tom p- Yeah, we've talked the Optimum/Griot's choice to death, but maybe the new version of Optimum really *is* better  Heh heh, maybe I'm going out of my way to give Optimum some consideration in part because I'm not such a big fan of their stuff and I want to be fair about this.

I keep sticking with Griot's as a matter of not fixing what's not broken, but every now and then I think about that ~20% cost diff and if it's so much more concentrated in *addition* to that, well....

I bought Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Gloss after reading many glowing reviews here on Autopia and other forums on the net. It is Super dooper concentrated and exremely versatile.

Lubricity is excellent just like the Duragloss Shampoo Gallon I finished.

Look into it. Will last very very very long too. :)

Of all the soaps I have used, Optimum and PB's seem to be my favorites but I would use many others and still do. I sure like the blueberry smell of Optimum but PB's is more cost effective at the rated dilutions.
