Was this the correct combo to use? Rotary/DA SIP/nano Orange/White on GMC blk paint?

I just finished a detail on a 1997 GMC Yukon GT in black. I used my Makita with a LC Orange pad and Menzerna SIP followed up with LC white pad and Nano (I think it is called power finish now?)then followed by PC and LC white pad with nano. I probably should have used Purple foam wool first, but that is besides the point. I was worried about any sort of buffer trails and holograms and that is why I did the 3 step and followed up with the PC. The truck came out very good (still some very deep RIDS left behind) but that was after about 8-10 hours of polishing. I was wondering how you all would have attacked the same scenario? The paint seemed VERY hard and was pretty difficult to correct. I just wish i was able to get the same sort of correction in a few hours less. That would have made it perfect. Any suggestons would be appreciated!

Megs 105 and follow up with 205 on a DA.

Well, I don't own 105 and I am reluctant to try it after hearing of all the drying problems and dusting problems with it. Do you really think what I need to get done cannot happen with Menzerna? Are the Meguiars twins really that much better or just the flavor of the month currently? I'm thinking that with a different application process than what I posted above, I may have gotten better results and that is why I posted this question.

D_Nyholm- I don't see anything wrong with your approach. While I'm currently enjoying my ride on the M105 bandwagon (a little less so regarding M205), what you did is the same kind of approach I used to do (although I used 3M or 1Z stuff instead of Menzerna). That's basically what I did on my beater-Blazer (same vintage GM clear).

My next beater-SUV project is an older Tahoe, and I'm gonna use M105/SurBuf via either Griot's DA or Cyclo for the serious work. Gotta say that since I finally broke down and tried M105 I haven't touched either of my rotaries. But that doesn't mean that *you* oughta change what you're doing.

You mentioned getting better results- what would you like to be "better"?
