I like cheese.
While "setting up shop" I will keep the pieces of clay I will be using for the vehicle (usually about 3 new chunks, bar sixthed or quartered) in a plastic baggy in my pants pocket. By the time I get into my washing stage the clay is pretty malible and by keeping it in my hand between panels it stays that way. Of course I am on the central coast where cold is 50*. It worked pretty well when I was in the East Bay though.
