David B,

First off, you seem like a guy who knows his way around the web, good for you.

Disappointed you did not take me up on my offers via PM or my phone calls to have a private conversation before taking out my trash ... but that is your choice as mayor.

I can tell you that coming from a State Water Control Board NPDES Meeting today, they do not think highly of our industry, in fact, they are in process of implementing standards that change the way this game will be played.

So, I offer you a suggestion ... if you want an opportunity to lead this industry, I suggest you include criteria beyond verifying technician status.

What if you at least required some level of verification that the participants had proper Business License, Insurance and proper reclamation and discharge. maybe not everywhere, but at least in So California.

I can verify you would gain the respect of the regulators in a big way,and maybe some other important folks in and around the industry.

I will reach out to you again, I hope you will take the opportunity to talk and meet. i am in San Diego once a week.

Some well intentioned comments.

-jim

PS Thanks for the spell checker!

Jim - For someone to "lead" in this industry, or at least for DavidB's marketing scheme, reclamation & discharge don't seem to be a prerequisite. Also, I don't think DavidB is reaching out to gain the acceptance of regulators either for this campaign. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'd have to guess that less than 1 tenth of 1 percent of Autopian members conform to your matrices on detailing in regards to water usage. I don't see how it parallels this forum's industry concentration like it does on MobileWorks for example. I applaud you for your efforts on this matter, but IMHO, this isn't the best site to focus all of your beliefs on. Especially at the rate you've undertaken. I feel you may have to take 1000 steps backwards just to gain 1 step forward here. Is this cause worth the effort on this medium?

That's correct. While I believe that regulation is important, it has to be in balance with the economy.

Thanks to all who indicated an interest. I will be out for a days. When I get back I will dive into creating a database to hosting your information.

~ Stay tuned!
