This is the 2nd time Ive done the back seats in my mom's car. I didnt take pics the first time but the water looked just as bad. Im out of Little Green formula so Ill have to get some more before I do them again. Its a used car and weve been using it for years with this stuff in the seats. I would rather NOT know what it is. :soscared:

The seat looks good at first but then the red stuff starts coming back to the surface. I may do it again with just water since it already has some Little Green stuff in it.

Just did them a third time using only water. Stills pulling REALLY dirty water out. It looks more like coffee or muddy water now. Maybe it was in a flood or something?

Ill see how it looks tomorrow and decide if I need to do it again. Looks great when its wet, then it drys..

Did you do a CarFax on this car before buying? It might have been through a flood before you owned it? Did you get it at a really good deal after Katrina? :scared:

Haha, no, we got it at an auction.

Its been a good little car. I think we got it in 2001(1998 Model) and it had 40k miles on it. Now it has 130k.

Its had a wheel bearing replaced and I had to put a starter in it.. Thats about it though.. Its been a good little car. :2thumbs: Burns alittle oil though.

Oh come on, that's just dirt. Do you leave the windows open, ever? During the summer, etc.? Plenty of dust/dirt gets in, and settles into the fabric. Ever think about the layer of dust/dirt that's on the outside? That same stuff is settling inside if you leave the windows open. If you don't like that dirt...don't start extracting the carpet in your house!

Like SA said -- dirt gets inside, too. And everytime someone sits down that dirt gets ground into the fabric. Over the course of 9 years you'll have quite a bit of grime built up beneath the surface.

Looked at the seat today after it had time to dry... It looks awful. Guess Ill be doing it a few more times till the water clears up. Wish I wouldnt of even done it now. The seats didnt look all that bad before I started.

How about this one? If you've ever had a torn car seat or piece of furniture or carpeting, there is usually stuff in there you don't expect to see, like fiber matting filler or reinforcement. Perhaps you are getting it so wet that you are pulling some color out of something in there which is tinting the water and the seat?
