Walmart - should I continue to support them?

The Shanks made a big mistake, they never should have settled the case with the trucking company. The trucking company should have been paying all of the medical costs to begin with, but probably didn't until sued or whatever (I only scanned the article). Wal-Mart stepped up and took care of the costs until responsibility was placed on the trucking company and they have every right to get reimbursed what they put out.

I am not a share holder of Wal-Mart and don't agree with some of their tactics in business, but I feel they are in the right on this one. As I said before, the Shanks made a big mistake. They should get another lawyer and see if they can get more money out of the trucking company.

Im confused on this article. Is it Wal-marts doing or the health care company that they chose. It could be that employees were complaining about the price of health care (which had happend where I previously worked) and they went with a less expensive plan. My heart goes out fully to this poor woman and her family but to boycott wal mart because of their health insurance provider doesnt seem right. Shouldnt they be going after the truck drivers insurance? After all it was their insured driver who caused this from what the article says. Its a shame that they need to go through the stress of another lawsuit and possibly lose money that they will certainly need in the long run for medical bills, rehab and day to day life since the family income will be very much less because of only one person now working. But blame the insurance company.... not Walmart
