Walmart Detailers Meeting ...

The Black Magic stuff has overtaken a lot of stores here too, not just wallyworld. Some stuff i'd use if i didn't have better stuff ... meaning their brushes or pads or whatever, but i already have diff. ones that i like. But a big pad strapped to my hand w/ different bonnets for waxing/polishing/whatevering just seems like faddish, overkill to me. Gimme a towel and an applicator.

I have found that i really like Target's "car stuff" aisle much better than walmart's. They sell Gallon Jugs of Gold Class Shampoo for under $10!

Definitely better :up

I tried to keep from going off on Wal-Mart, but I just couldn't resist.

Fact is, I HATE Wal-Mart, and everything about them. :angry :angry

They move into a town, build a huge store on what used to be a beautiful piece of land and for some strange reason, the masses flock there for every little thing they need. Yeah I know, it's because their stuff is cheaper -- well, hello, it's cheaper because it's all junk made from the cheapest grade of material acceptable.

In the process, they put all of the Mom and Pop shops out of business resulting in the loss of jobs of many. Yeah, they employ 50 minimum wage people, but in the process, they close the doors to half that many storeowners making twice minimum wage. The profits go to the WalMart family who continue to become wealthier and wealthier.

Look at any town where a huge Walmart has come, the small shops and other stores that used to thrive are now dead. I'm sure glad that Tom, **** and Harry have saved their $.05 by buying the (whatever) at WalMart, because it won't be long until that's the only place they can buy that (whatever).

Freaking Walmart.

:angry

I like Walmart, only wish there was one close by.See they decided to vote Walmart out of the town it should have gone in.Now all the stores that Walmart was suppose to have caused to close and move did so anyway and now there's nowhere to shop close by.

There's things there that aren't any cheaper made than what you'd buy somewhere else for twice the price.I don't think that some of the Meguiars or EO products they sell are all that bad, they just cost less.I picked up a metal carport there at a real good price and seems to be holding up just fine.

Blackmagic is a brand name of the Bondo Corp who is inturn owned by Shell Oil. Flip over the package and you will see SOPUS; Shell Oil Product U.S.

Preach it, brother! I try to tell this to folks. But they do the same "But, aw, gosh, the prices are so good" routine that you described. :(

I'm the same way about Home Depot. There was a push to have them in our city (crowded but small beach community) after years of moratorium on those kinds of stores. The crazy thing was we had already several larger chains and a plethora of small shops that offered what Home Depot did and more. Anyways, I always prefer to give my money to a smaller business for those same reasons.

I'm with you on the HD thing. Besides, lots of the smaller stores, even those that are still chains, offer nicer and rarer items than HD :up

Thing that sucks is there really is no where else to go where i live. We have wal mart, k mart, and thats about it. No other detailing stores (other than car quest who have crap and advance auto parts), so i'm pretty much screwed buying their crap or ordering it all online. Stupid little town.

Yep, even with a few chain auto parts stores, there's very little stuff to get locally, he he, I buy probably about 98% of my stuff online any way.

About the only thing i can get is some scratchx, color x, some #26, #7, NXT if i want it, and thats about it. Sure, got some car wash, some really scary paint polish, and of course the staple of EVERY auto parts store... TW Compund!!! Sucks, nobody for about 300 miles has anything thats really worth buying.

Oh...? I've had decent luck with the sheepskin mitts from Wal-Marts in my area. Maybe they market a different brand up here in Canada. :nixweiss They may not be the "best" out there, but they definately don't suck.

I think your referring to the EUROW ones, which I really like. :up

Yes but the great majority of people do not think that way which is why places like Lowe's and HD are so successful--its the lower prices and one-stop atmosphere they're attracted to. People will often sacrifice quality for price and convienence.

Think about gas grilles--cheap, fast, convienent, but does anything beat good ol' charcoal when grilling? People simply don't have the time, patience or willingness to get their hands a little black for great tasting BBQ'd food. Its unfortunate, but as Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption said, "the world went and got itself into a big hurry".

I'll buy the same thing from HD if its cheaper, it's the hard to find/better quality stuff from the little guy that attracts me there more often :up
