Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

based on forum recommendations I picked one up at AutoZone for $5.99 (not bad compared to Menzerna TI for $20)

anyway, just want to make sure that Prep-All works the same as the others.

also, do i spray on MF then wipe down finish after each step?

thanks all....

Haven't use it yet, but I would think it's better to do it that way so no over spray on your trim.

nice find. I have a walmart 2 miles from me and have some touch up work to do on my hood (rock chips). I'll try to check this out tomorrow.

Is it safe to put Prep All in a plastic spray bottle?

yes...I use it in a spray bottle..just get a chemical resistant spray head..thats all you need....The ones at Home Depot have worked well with strong chemicals for me.....and the ones from ADS work well also....

All I do is spray a MF to dampen it and wipe down after polishing....I do not spray the panels...

I finally found a bottle of this stuff at another Wal-Mart. I can't wait to compare it to the aerosol I bought from Napa and the IPA/distilled H20 mixture I bought from Target.

Tried the Prep-all this weekend as a pre-polish step since it sounds like the medicine to keep SIP from acting funny. The paint definately looked clean but it did leave a residue where I got it on the glass. I have to believe that the same residue must have been on the paint too. So I decided to use a IPA wipe down post polishing.

It depends on the polish or compound. It just takes testing and experience. Sometimes, I will wipe a polish down with the 91% alcohol, and if I don't see any filling, then I will try the same spot with the Prep Sol. If the Prep Sol reveals something that the alcohol didn't, I just make a note that that certain polish requires a Prep Sol wipedown, versus an alcohol wipedown. Make sense?
