Wal Mart Prep-Sol?

I saw this at Wal Mart, and picked it up. Is this an equivalent to Prep-Sol? I haven't tried it yet...

People often ask on this site where they can buy Prep-sol. If this stuff is the same, you can get it at Wal Mart where they keep the little bit of paint and body stuff that they carry.

Interesting find... I'll keep it in mind. The IPA/H20 mixture would still be the cheaper solution wouldn't it?

IPA/H2O is great, but not a replacement for prep-sol at all, IMHO.

Good find on the Prep-All. I was thinking of helping a buddy with some rock chips on his car and was going to go pick up some 3M GP Adhesive Remover (naptha) to prep the spots.

yes its the same thing..does the same job...I have used the dupont...Hi temp and 3m versions and this one and they worked the same ....and it works much better than the Alc/H20 mix at cleaning polish oils of the paint...

wear gloves using this and any prep sol product...it will dry your hands out real bad..they turn white...

your set now....

this works on taking of wax stains on plastic trim also...just use a fingernail brush to scrub them...then treat them right after...

Prep-sol is like isa:water x10. ISA/water is definitely a good idea on a large scale, but for cleaning before adding paint etc, prep sol is where it's at.

I looked for it 2 days ago at my Wal-Mart and I couldn't seem to find it. I checked both the paint and the auto sections of the store and no luck. :(

I guess I'll check another one.

I had trouble finding it also, but eventually found it in the marine supplies section at my local Wal Mart.

Just a heads up, I picked up the same bottle today. Will be testing it soon to find out if the prep-all works on a polished 3m extra cut -> SIP -> 106FA -> well waxed with Vic. Collectors -> and then spray waxed with Mothers Reflections. To see if the prep-all cuts through all the oils and wax I will just be using water beading and SIP finicky nature.

Reports to follow...with pictures....

This stuff works awesome...I will never polish without it now!

FWIW...it stripped everything off, and SIP worked like never before...Great product for the price.

I just put it in a sprayer and used like IPA 50/50....worked WAY better imo.

Just picked some up today at Wally World. Tried it to remove some crud on my painted from door (better to mess that up than your paint right lol). Took everything off and left the paint perfect.
