waiting for polisher... too early to clay?

Okay, first post so lets get the dumb question out of the way. I ordered a polisher and I'm planning to clay, polish and wax. My question is this:

If I clay the car tomorrow and don't get my polish and wax done until next week can I still drive around a bit or should I wait until I can do everything at once?

I don't know why I'm so anxious but I'm really itching to get started! I'm planning to wipe the care down with Mcquiers quick detailer during and after clay so I'm hoping that would be enough to protect the paint in between steps. I read somewhere that claying removes all the wax and if you don't wax after claying your paint could get damaged. I wish I remember where I read that so I could put a link but I've been doing so much research I can't remember where I found that...

Thanks!

if you drive after claying your paint will be exposed without any protection, for a week of this shouldn't be a big deal, it's up to you really.

It will be okay for you to drive around in between claying and polishing and waxing.

The qd will be enough protection for the week :up
