Waaaaay too much EF Spot Remover

I had a gallon of EF Spot Remover in the rear passenger footwell of my WRX, and apparently I hadn't capped it well. I discovered yesterday morning that there was about 1/2 gallon that had leaked out. I tried to dry it out by scrubbing it up with cotton towels, but got a ton of foam for my trouble. I went to Target and picked up a Bissel "Little Green Machine" mini-extractor; unfortunately, it just doesn't have the suction to really get everything out of the carpet (and, the spot remover is still foaming like crazy).

The carpet is only damp now, and the color doesn't seem to be affected, but no matter what I try to do with it, I still get foam. My gf suggested using a de-foamer that Rug Doctor sells, but even if it got rid of the suds, I don't know that I can really get everything back out of the carpet.

If it won't harm the floorpan or the carpet, I'm tempted to just allow it to dry thoroughly and call it a lesson learned . . .

Suggestions?

Thanks for any help,

Tort

Have you tried a Wet/dry vac ???

Yep. My little Shop-Vac helped a bit, but I think it's going to take an industrial-strength type extractor to really pull it out. Actually, the carpet is fairly dry now; I'm just concerned about leaving the spot remover in the fibers, and any long-term effects.

Yeah, I think this is a done deal. I'm sorry to hear about the mess.

Only thing I can think of to completely removed the cleaner is removal of the carpet and padding and rinse out thoroughly. I know that's not practical but I don't think even a pro extractor will remove 1/2 gallon of cleaner.

Maybe flush with a LOT of water and then use one of those coin-op super-power vacs at the self-spray car wash?

I think if it were me, I would pull the front seat, remove the trim moulding, and lift the carpet up to dry with air on both sides for a day.
