A bit off topic - but I didn't realise the Passat engine was mounted longitudinal (is that the right word? along the line of the length of the car as opposed to across the hood)



the Passat is a front wheel drive car I think - so this is a strange engine / drivetrain layout.



It is great work though - just shows what those engine covers actually hide - a LOT!!



Did you use a lot of water in the engine bay? I'm always afraid to do a lot of detailling in the bay incase the car never starts again!!

This reason why I love diesel engine. No spark plug wires, no coil to worry about. Just spray them

klnyc: i have spark plugs and never worry about it, power washit 3 times a year, i think my belts don't like it since i'm hearing more squeals than before.

Awe, you forgot to strip all the 'red stuff' off of the coil inside the alternator.
