VROOM Sheepskin wash mitts

I just picked up one of these at Target...$6.99!

It's definately natural, the inside is leather. The sheepskin/wool is > 1" thick and very soft. There are variations between different mitts, so I just picked the most plush one. It has a black elastic cuff and fits pretty snug.

I think this might be GREAT for the money. I'll let you guys know what I think after I use it this Sunday (if it doesn't rain).

Anyone else have experience with these?

Thanks!

They sound pretty similar to the Eurows I have. Some evenalso have black cuffs and yes, the plushness can vary significantly. He he, after I picked the most plush in the store and purchased several, I then see if any of the plush ones I collected are more plush than some of the others :D What I will do then is label each mitt according to "most delicate" areas of the car and "assign" them to washing those particular parts.

Bill,

You're crazy man! :D :headbang

I thought I was bad until I started reading threads about you and accumulator over THERE. :D

My local "Wally World" had 4 of the Vroom or Eurow mitts... I walked away from all of them. They didn't come close to the Meguiar's mitts that I have. I'll keep checking through them from time-to-time though! :D

What Meguiars mitt are you referring to? Sheep skin, MF, cotton, or synthetic?

I'd love to see those Meguiars sheepskin mitts in person. Even at my former local detailing store, a Megs distributor, they never had them. I have to say though, if you do find nice and plush Eurow, and I'm certain Vroom, TW, etc. sheespkin mitts, they do a wonderful job of marring free washings ( use proper precautions, as always)

It is Lambswool. I was going to post a picture, but the new Meguiar's site doesn't list the mitt... only in their Concours kit! I hope they didn't drop them from the line! :angry

I wonder if they are close to/clones of the Griot's mitts. :dunno
Don't think so Bill... They may have been made by SM Arnold? :dunno They do look similar to the Arnold mitts.

:naughty Guess where I just came back from. He he, yep, Wal-Mart. And there was a huge, new shipment of Eurow mitts there. I have loads of mitts already so I went and picked out the softest one for the hell of it. :D

For the first time, I explained to a Wal-Mart employee about these mitts and how they differ significantly from mitt to mitt. Therefore I have to evalute each one, pick the softest and evaluate further from there. Well, also for the first time I saw how these mitts are shipped to the store. They come in a clear plastic bad, 4 to a pack.

Out of 20 mitts on the shelf, only two were acceptable for my use and they weren't as great as some I own already. Maybe OK for lower body moldings.

He he, sorta like fishing, sometimes you catch the big ones,( or in this case the real plush ones) sometimes not.

:dunno I bought a Vroom sheepskin mitt from Target and was initially impressed. The mitt seemed dense and fluffy and well made. I washed the car with it once, rinsed it by hand and have let it dry. Then soon after I was running my fingers through it and felt something hard. Turns out I pulled out three "spikey" pieces of needle-like hair from the skin of the mitt itself! Fortunately it was down near the skin so I don't think it marred my paint any but it's not something I'd want pressing up against the paint.

Plus when I push down on the surface of the mitt I can feel little bumps. When I gave one bump a pull a chunk of the mitt came loose. I haven't used this mitt on my paint again, except for "dirty duty" like on the underbody or tires.

I've also bought two nice Turtle Wax mitts from Pep Boys. After many washings my two Turtle Wax sheepskin mitts still feel good, without any debris or anything coming loose. The leather inside of the TW mitts is softer than the Vroom mitt and the sheepskin itself is of a lighter color and softer. Plus the Vroom mitt has a stronger smell when wet.

Maybe Turtle Wax uses higher quality sheep for it's mitts or perhaps the tanning process is superior? Anyone else have this problem with the Vroom mitt? I know of one other instance besides me where this has happened.
