Vroom microfibers for polish removal? (pics)

My gf surprised me today and brought me home a package of Vroom Microfiber Towels from target. They feel pretty soft and plush, and I know there are different types of Vroom towels out there. Are these any good for product removal, or will I cause marring?

I have those towels and use them for primarily for QEW. They do get really thin after several washes but haven't led to any serious marring on my soft black Honda paint. The larger orange Vroom towels that come in packs of 12 are thicker and softer in my opinion. I use those for polish removal and they work great.

yeah i have some of them i dont use em to remove anything, i use em with onr and interior cleaning

when i do use em.

I have a few of the better towels and they seem very good. There were two types in the store when I was there and the thicker more expensive ones seemed like a good deal.

BUT do yourself a favor and check each corner of the towel to see/feel any places where they may have heated the edging fabric to keep it from fraying. Snip 'em off before you even think about putting them on paint.

This goes for 'boutique' microfiber towels as well, not just "cheaper" OTC towels.

use those for door jams, glass, interior work. go to k-mart and buy a few of the green viking quick detail microfiber towel for the paint....

those are my junk towels...I use meguiars yellow towels for polish/wax removal

I heard good things about the grey Vroom towels though, but the ones you have are the same ones I have and they dont touch my paints....

The ones that come in 2 packs are the super plush ones. I've bought those before only to have them become extremely thin and curvy-edged, so now they aren't even used for automotive purposes.

I have a pack of the orange Vroom towels from Target, and honestly, I like them even compared to my high end boutique micros. Multiple washes, still get no marring and work great for removing polishes/waxes (have a nice bite to them). I want to try some of the Viking ones as well.

I saw them at Target and W-M the other day but resisted buying them. They were inexpensive and soft to the touch.

Have you done a CD test with them prior to using them on any paint surface? I would caution even using them on painted door jams because on my 2002 Honda (which was traded-in last year) I used some cheaper mf (won't name them) on the jams over 2-3 years and I started to see cc scratching as careful as I am. On my 2006 Honda only top-notch quality mf's touch my paint and that includes the jams. I've learned my lesson.

I've used the Vroom grey towels for quite awhile now - on my paint - and have had no problems whatsoever. I really like them. They're available at Target so I don't have to order, they're very soft and durable and don't induce marring.

Even after multiple washes, I still don't get any marring on cd's. I like the bite the orange ones have when removing polishes/waxes. Just as good as the boutique micros I have.

Viking makes a nice edgeless towel for $4 and change that you can find in several auto parts chains. Saw some at O'Reillys recently...

These towels are excellent. I purchased the gray supersoft ones, and the blue ones for windows. I had no marring issues with the gray towels, and the blue ones work wonders on windows. 2 for 3.49 is a good price. I also like the aesthetics of their products. The glass wet wipes, and interior wet wipes, come in an oval container that fits in your glove box, and the packaging has a modern soft color look, that catches your eye. I know the presentation of the product does nothing for your vehicle, but it is nice to see a section of the detailing supply aisle, that looks new, and isn't trying to be Meguiar's or Armor All.

I will agree. The Grey Vroom's are very nice for the price. They don't really compare to the Viking OTC's but still, I've used them on paint without any problems. It seems like the blue ones are very similar if not the same and the orange ones come close. They are 80/20 blends made in China and they have a somewhat tight weave. I prefer them for QDing bugs and wheel work but again, no problems on paint so far.

I tried some...not high enough quality for paint.

For wax removal I just tried the Viking edgeless and they are superb and tagless. :)
