Volvo XC90 full detail

This car is about 16 months old. Was taken to the delear for the "Dealer detail" package last year. Goes to regular brush washes. The paint was in OK shape. Car was well maintained on the outside with regard to dents and scrapes.

The interior was messy; the owner has two kids. Cherrios, Bugels, Ritz and McDonalds were interior sponsors of messiness. :D

Here's the before pics:

We cleaned the interior with Poorboys Natural and shampoo'ed carpets with Meguiars APC dilluted.

Interior After:

Got that pesky mark out (later found out it was a greasy rotor :o ):

Car was washed with Meguiars Gold Class and clayed with Sonus Ultra Fine. We then took it and put it under the light to see the paint defects. This was the condition of the whole car:

After's of the passenger area:

This is the hood:

We polished with green pad and #83. Sealed with Poorboy's EX sealant. Came out great in the end:

A little tough at first. I knew Volvo clear was some tough stuff, but once we found the right combo, it was a smooth go....

What was the right combo? Can you give out your process and products used?

:thx

I laid out everything in the thread. We tried a few combinations, but knowing Volvo clear was hard, #83 and a green pad worked the best.

Took about 7 hours... Interior was pretty messy and lots of carpet/fabric to shampoo and clean up...

:wall I just now found that between two pics :wall

When people speak of hard clear coats I think they will use a orange or yellow pad. Interesting combo, I guess the idea to allow the 83# to do the work and not the pad. Would you have saved time by using a pad with more cut?

I'm going to be hitting a Toyota Tundra this weekend with black paint so I was interested in your process for black.

I think I'll use a orange with OC, white/OP, Opti Seal. I really like the optimum products. I'm using a PC and 6" pads

huge improvement!! i like that before and after that Crazy Quattro posted of your work. interior and exterior look fantastic.

Well, I didn't want to marr the surface up. The surface wasn't *that* bad so I figured I would go as high as green, maybe Orange, but that Yellow would be too much for that surface. The #83 did it's job on the first use of it with the green pad, so I went with what worked....
