This vehicle belongs to my girlfriend's mother and has haunted me since day 1. I can honestly say that I've lost sleep over this car.
They purchased it about 2 years ago with around 70k on the clock. It has 103k now and still looks like hell. The previous owner's beat the piss out of the thing. Swirls were an understatement on top of the pellet shooting practice the front end took plus R.I.D.S. all over, haze, bad-repaint, sanding marks...I could go on.
Anyways, this is the 3rd time I've worked on it since they picked it up. My girlfriend's father (god bless him) is VERY environmentally friendly. He uses the minimal amount of water to rinse, about 1/4 ounce of soap per 3 gallons of bucket water, an old chamois to wash/dry, and thats it. I've tried educating, but no luck. Other times, it visits the cheapest swirl-o-matic in town. I pretty much try to just keep the swirls under control.
Today, I did just that, try to keep everything under control. I was not concerned about full-anything fixes as I know the clearcoat is getting low. My finals were:
-Meguiar's Hyper Wash
-TOL tire cleaner cut 50/50 on tires/wells
-Meguiar's Wheel Brightener cut 3:1 on wheels
-Optimum Clay with Hyper Wash lube
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut via rotary and LC Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm on hood
-Menzerna FPII via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 1500 rpm on hood
-Zaino Z5 via rotary and LC Finishing Pad @ 600 rpm on entire car
-Zaino Z6 to touch-up
-Meguiar's All Season Dressing on trim/tires
-Meguiar's Extreme Shine Dressing in wells

This car is not perfect, nor will it ever be. I did what I could with what I was given.
Questions/Comments, fire away.
