Volvo S60R...Soccer Mom's need not apply

Okay, first off...nice detail.

Second, please tell us how you took those photos. Which lense, filters (if any), settings? That is some awesome photography and I would like some tips on how you took those pictures.

Very nice looking car, love the mods. Awesome job on the detail as well as the photography too :bigups

Thanks for the replies all, it's a Canon EOS-20D. It's my backup camera!

I can't imagine what your main camera is :o

what lens?

My guess is he was using one of Canon's L lenses, which one I don't know. I'd also like to know though.

Okay well my main camera is a Canon EOS-1DMkII and my backup is a EOS-20D. The two lenses I used in these photos were the Canon EOS 100-400L IS and the 24-70/2.8 L.

Both handheld, no filters used, levels, and USM only as needed. EXIF data is now listed below each photo.

By the way can you see the clear bra? VentureShield and I've had 3M and hated the orange peel.

The clear bra isn't noticeable at all in the pictures, but i'm sure it is in person. At least its doing its job, no rock chips. :)

I figured you we're using one of the L lens. I've read awesome reviews on the 24-70 f/2.8L, but I'd be curious to see how the new EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS competes with it. They are both pretty pricey though, I need to start playing the lotto for a nice L collection

Actually the clear bra is ONLY noticeable when you actually look for it. Most people don't even see it on the car.

Updated more photos.

*** the 20D is your backup?? I'm afraid to know what your go-to is...

Out of curiosity, I'm actually interested in picking up a DSLR this summer and have been leaning towards the Rebel XT simply because it seems the most user friendly and is getting rather cheaper by the day (saw it for ~$600 somewhere with standard kit). What would you suggest?

I hope that this isn't thread hijacking but the Rebel XT is a great camera. It's very reasonable however it does have limitations over the 20D/30D. The 20D/30D allows you to have a level of control that you can't get in the XT and is more solidly constructed. But if you need a good camera and don't mind buying good lenses and you don't need the manual control, then the XT is perfect.

First lens you should buy, although you'll laugh, is a 50/1.8 MkII. It's only 70 bucks online but it's one of the sharpest lenses that you can have for under a grand.

I like the wheels, a great subtle change from the OEM wheels.

I agree, wheels and tires is one of the simplest ways to customize your car and seperate yourself from everyone else that owns the same car. I hate stock anything. Nothing drives me crazier than seeing someone drive the exact same car as me. :D

Very nice ride :wow: Love the rims, but looks like someone got a little to close to a curb though :nervous2:

Actually it's glue from them putting the tires on the car. It rubbed right off!

What floormats do you have? I have a V50 and like the Volvo rubbermats. Looks like you have them too, hard to see though. Great car, detail and photoskills by the way :bigups

Awesome detail and a beautiful car!! Cool photography too. I wish I could invest into a better camera to photograph my details, but I just got a new truck that is draining my pocket book! :p

And how old is your ride? It looks like it just rolled out of the showroom! Honest! And you can sell those pics to Volvo for them to include in their next brochure!!!! Great stuff!

My car is about two years old. I wash it weekly and follow up every couple days with quick detail. I'm pretty particular about my car.
