Volkswagon Touareg

This Touareg is a 59,000 mile car that was due for a interior detail a freshening up of the paint and some winter protection. Overall the car wasn’t in all that bad of shape considering it’s used to haul horse supplies and the family dog which is a good sized dog. It had your typical swirls, scratches and tar.

Quite a long shopping list just to clean one car isn’t it!
So now on to the pictures.

As the car arrived.

This is after cleaning just two wheels.

Tarminator doing its thing. With this much tar on the wheels I already know whats in store when it comes to the paint.

Wheels all cleaned up and looking much better.

Time to try out the new Lemon Scent Iron X. Looks like it found some more contamination.

With the wheels all cleaned up its time to turn my attention to the motor. I like to do the motor complete prior to washing so that any motor dressing that gets on the outer panels, front fenders or windshield will be washed off with the washing step.

All cleaned up and dressed, looking like new.

Underside of the hood all shined up with Mothers Spray Wax. Makes short work of it along with door jams.

Time to start the decon of the paint. A foam soak to loosen things up.

Yep sure enough more tar, even on the rear license plate.

After the decon the paint was as expected swirls, scratches and bug etchings.

Starting the correction process with Dewalt 849 X and M100.

Let’s not forget the tail lights. It makes a big difference in the overall look, just like dressing the wheel wells.

Finished compounding and polishing with M100 and Reflect. No LSP yet.

Chrome all taped off ready to be polished with Mothers chrome polish. See the grey crud in the corners.

Well if you’ve been with me this far, might as well move on to the interior.

All cleaned up and dressed with OPT leather protectant.

Sun was almost down by the time I finished. I think it came out pretty nice. The owners were more than happy.

Same rear quarter from the 50/50 shot.

Thanks for looking hope you enjoyed it.
