VM + EX-P = awesome on silver!

I had to post a couple of shots I took yesterday. For reflections on silver paint, these made me very happy. I should get a few high res shots in the sunlight that really show the bling like shine from a few friends.

I went to to car club meets today and am happy to say I had the best paint there bar none...SilverLexus came along the the 2nd, the SE Lexus Owner Club monthly meet; the Solara folks hang with the Lex folks some.

Last Saturday I used SSR 2.5 with a polishing & cutting pad on the roof, trunk & hood followed by Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion with a polishing pad, then VM with a finishing pad and a coat of EX-P with a finishing pad (the 1 hour cure time before removing worked like a champ...heavy rain and no streaks!). Yesterday I did the second coat of EX-P by hand with a PVA sponge (1 hour cure time again).

I want to top it with Pinnacle Signature, but it looks so clear and reflective that I'm hesitant to mess with it. I think the Signature will add depth and wetness.

Anyway a few shots are below...when I get the shots from today I'll post them too.

About 6 weeks ago I used 1Z Glas Polish with the PC and a polishing pad. I have been using 1Z Windscreen Clear "Scheibenklar" with a mf towel once a week since.

This was my first time using VM. It was very easy to work with. My only complaint would be that it is sooooo thin! A few times I poured too much on the pad (btw, the regular Edge pads do require less product!) I felt. The oil separates pretty quickly so you really have to shake it well. Anyway, I used the VM as a wipe on, wipe off product; next time I'll let it sit for 20 or 30 minutes to see if it fills more. It is a glaze and it does have some fillers in it. It is very mild and I would classify it as a chemical cleaner like AIO rather than an abrasive cleaner. The best way to describe it would be a very light polish...like a paint cleaning lotion...the Pinnacle PCL was probably overkill as it are very similar in power and the VM probably removed all of it, but I wanted to give it a try...another great product from the folks @ Pinnacle.

I've seen tons of pics with this combo and after seeing a few cars in person I had to try it myself. It is the clearest, most reflective my car has been. SilverLexus saw it with AIO plus Signature x2 and after VM + EX-P x1. Today he remarked that it was gotta wear shades bright and the shiniest he had seen it. We are two white guys that are over 35 and we both used the word bling to describe the look.

I'll be happy to tell you more as I use it or you can PM me with questions. After one use I'm certainly not an expert, but I can see myself becoming a big fan!

looks good from the pictures:bigups ...your words are even better than pictures:)

Thanks Steve. The hour cure time before removing makes it look even better! We had a very hard rain last week and I am happy to report no spotting.

I also used the wheel cleaner for the first time yesterday. I don't think my wheels looked that good when I took delivery of the car new (250 miles on it).

Last week you visited a body shop owned by a friend of one of my co-workers...Pete wanted his friend to check the stuff out before I bought it...I kept telling him I had a closetful already. I can't remember the name of it or the city it is in off the top of my head.

Actually i sent one of my newest distributors out to your friends shop...
He picked up a few things and both he and the distributor were happy when he left. They will be doing more business I'm sure in the future:bigups

He said that he wasn't used to nice colors and smells! :lmfao

believe me I know..I grew up in this industry using 3M products that would make me :hurl and laquer thinner to clean my hands:eek :bigscream

Great results!

VM/EX-P has been my go to on silver's since the day I tried it.

Natty's will take a little away from that "wet-glass" look with providing more of a "glowing-wet" look. :)

"I went to to car club meets today and am happy to say I had the best paint there bar none...SilverLexus came along the the 2nd"

I thought I was first! :) Actually Todd's car won the show.

I've never seen Lunar Mist paint look better and only rarely have I seen any silver look better than Todd's car.

When you speak of VM, which Clearkote product is this the Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze, Moose Wax, or Carnauba Wax? Results look really good.

the glaze...that is the only thing I know of with Vanilla Moose in the name...I don't think EX-P would not bond as well to a carnuba

Thanks. Guess I should have read the other post first to answer my question!
