Viper Is Ready For Show!

Spent some quality time with the GTS on Saturday and am very pleased with the results.

Short story...Dawn wash with CR Spotless...allowed to dry. Zaino claybar, then 2 coats via PC of Z2 with ZFX. Coat of Z8. Zaino tire dressing on tires.

Since using the PC, I have found an even better finish while using the Z than I had previously enjoyed. With the CR Spotless, I no longer dry the vehicle. Instead, I spend the time after it has dried to apply Z8.

It's hard to show with the heavy metallic (that has three colors of flake), but the metallic is standing on it's end!

Looks outstanding  !!! Cant even tell that it is metallic paint from those pics.Got any sunny close-ups?

sQuashed...thanks. I thought I took pics of the flake, but I guess I didn't. The metallic standing up is what caused the silver shine all along the edges in the front view pic.

But...here's an engine pic.

That pic of the engine is enough to make a grown man cry. Nothin like a V10!

What type of pad are you using to apply Z2 with?

Nice job! The Viper GTS's are awesome. I don't know why they stopped production. That is definitley the color I would go with if I were to get one unless I were to choose the final edition red with silver stripes.

Thanks for all the kudos guys...I really appreciate them.

fatchance...I use a Meg's finishing pad.

The car is in the trailer now to go out to the Chrysler meet in Carlisle this week. (Giving the '72 a weekend off from show duty.) As soon as it sees daylight again, I'll get a flake pic.

:bow :bow :bow

That about sums it up. Always loved vipers, but your seriously puts them all to shame.

Thanks again folks!

FWIW, it's a bit of a rarity. In 2000, Dodge made Red, Black & Steel Grey. Silver painted stripes were a factory option. This is one of 127 striped steel grey GTSs.

Steel grey was for one year only, and has three different metallic color flakes, so the car takes on a purple or gold tint sometimes.

scubastevo....I agree...to a point. (I have the trailer for the old Plymouth that I restored...and the few before that.) I do drive the Viper locally on a regular basis

The meet I am going to is for three days, and over 200 miles away. Using the trailer does a few things. First, it allows me to take more than a toothbrush as space is tight. It also keeps the car from getting hammered by rocks, etc on the interstates. It also gives me a place to hide the car from the weather. Finally, it gives me the security of being locked up at night. (My truck has a two-way paging alarm so if it gets as much as nudged...I know about it) I'll use the GTS around town and all...but for the trip out and overnight...I like having my mobile garage.

Beautiful car, Matt. I'll be at Carlisle myself on Saturday (with my Ram 3500).

I'll look for you and your car.
