I applied the Vinylex to my mirrors(black textured plastic) and all the rubber trim around my truck. I has rained the last few days and I noticed black streaks running down my truck from the trim and the mirrors. It's real easy to see as the truck is silver.It wipes off real easy, but why is this happening?

It seems to me that you did not clean them very well. That has happend to me when I first started detailing. The dirt under the vinlex is washing off is my bet.

It's been my experience that Vinylex is a cleaner and needs to be worked in and not applied to thick. Also a damp MF will work great on the areas you may have applied to much. Just my .02.

Many vinyl protectants will do this. I have the same experience with my Dodge Dakots and like you, I find any black very easy to just wipe off. The black mirrors seem to oxidize rather quickly verses other kins of plastic. Another good work to describe this would be that the surfact is drying out as the oils leave the plastic. When treated with Vinylex, the product seems to take their over-dried plastic off as if it were dirt. This is not hard science, but with my 12 years experience with Vinylex, it is the best that I have to offer.
