i was wondering if anyone can recommend to me an interior vinyl dressing thats more resistant to fading.

one day, parked in the college campus parking lot i rolled down my window since i didnt want to run my engine to use the a/c.well it was pretty hot that day,hot enough to have me sweating so i stuck my arm out the window.a couple of days later the panel where my sweating arm was on top of had no protectant.everything else is fine 'cept the section where i layed my arm on.can anyone explain this?is it b cuz of the oils from perspiring?and can someone recommend something more resistant to body oils?i already searched but havent found anything that really helped me.thanks in advance!

Yes, it was the oils that cut through the protectant.

Interesting problem. I never did a test on such a thing. I have at least 10-12 different protectants in my stable. I guess I should try some tests.

That is very gracious of you Brad to volunteer a product test. I believe Robert was referring to Vinyl only. Is it possible for you to do the same product tests on Leather? I would be interested to know if i have been damaging the leather with my body oils and which products(z10,303,etc) will help to prevent this.

Thanks a ton Brad!

I think frequent cleaning is your best bet at protecting your leather. Leather conditioners will likely help, but in the end, removing the damaging chemicals from your sweating would be the best thing. If you tend to sweat a lot in the car, you really might want to clean and dress your seats frequently. Or if it's seasonal that you sweat a lot, just clean it a lot during those seasons. Maybe wipe the drivers seat down real quickly after each day of driving? Something like a damp cloth, or even just a dry one if the seat is actually wet? Just my thoughts... :wavey

Isnt it weird that the protectants that we use to keep our interior protected well against other conditions would only succumb to our body oils?.Anyway Brad since youre being so kind enough to try out some tests for yourself please lemme know of your results.Aloha!
