Vinyl striple polishing ?

Hi all,

I have a vehicle that I'll be doing a paint correction on. The vehicle has vinyl stripes (similar to mine in my sig pic). Even on my own car, I have no idea how to get swirls out of the vinyl stripes ? The swirls are the same kind you'd see on the painted surfaces, and traditionally attack with a polish of choice, but I have no idea if you're supposed to actually polish vinyl with a compound ?

Any help much appreciated :waxing:

It may just be lite "staining" from the cleaners in either the wax or polish that was used previously. I've had good luck with a cleaner polish/wax like Poli-Seal or Meg's 66 or similar on vinyl.

Polishes / compounds won't break down the vinyl material ?

If you overdo it they'll suffer premature failure from UV exposure. Sorry, but no, I don't have any advice about what does/doesn't constitute "overdoing it" but I'd err on the side of caution.
