I asked the question about what to use on vinly, 303 was unamious. I tried it and love it! However it is really expensive. Any other subsitutions or a cheap place to buy it? I love the way it still looks wet, but dry to the touch and want a product that acts the same as 303 (looks wet but dry to the touch). As always, thanks for the input.
 
Check out Vinylex (available at PepBoys in turquoise bottle). Lasted in excess of 6 months on my truck parked outside in Houston TX - High heat and high humidity
 
The West Marine Vinyl Protectant is solid right next to 303. It acts dead the same (looks wet, but dry) and is a couple bucks cheaper.
 
Shopping around online , you can find 303 by the gallon which might help with the cost. Both 303 and Vinylex in large sizes are available at topfotheline.com and I'm pretty sure Autoint's Valugard equivalent comes in gallons plus as well.
 
I think 303 is worth the extra money. I like Megs #40 to. I tried Vinlex and found it to be very greasy and streaked when applied. I only use 303 now on all my vinyl, plastic, rubber, and leather.
 
I'm a big fan of Meguiar's W-Dressing. I use it full strength for tires and diluted 1:1 with water for wheel wells and a little interior work.



It is in Meguiar's Detail line, a white, milky, waterbased dressing. A search should yield some old threads/posts about it.



All the water based dressings that I've used (303, Vinylex, new formula Armor-All, W-Dressing) seem about the same to me. I don't think you can go wrong.



I chose W-dressing because it was around $20 for a gallon compared with like $50 for a gallon of 303.
