Vinyl console scars--how to fix?

On a beach trip, my significant other shoved two beach chairs into the back seat. Rough ends of the aluminum tubing rubbed and scratched up the vinyl base of the center console. Looks like about three lines of nicks, with thin shavings partially ripped up, but still attached. Sort of like a kid's skinned knee.



Any ideas on how to make this look better? Shaving it in some way to remove the 'skinned' pieces? :nixweiss
