Vintage Cyclo.....

Thanks for posting this. I'm on the lookout for a vintage Cyclo, but I dunno if this is the one...I'm *really* looking for the one with the more elaborate ID plate and this one also looks like it'd maybe lose a lot of originality by the time I had it rebuilt to the point of being functional.

Still, I'll be keeping an eye on it, so thanks again for the heads-up.

Accumulator,

I'll try to remember to send you pics of my old Cyclo. I have no idea how old it is, but it has the metal handle (heavy thing - built like a tank). Currently, the cord is shorted out, but a friend is looking at that for me this weekend. AFAIK, everything else works fine (at least, it did before the cord went) . . . I thought I'd keep it as backup, and for those details when I'm teaching/have help, but if you've been looking for an "antique", and this one fits the bill, I'm not that attached to it.

If possible, I'd like to see a pic of the ID plate. There are two different metal ID plates (those are the ones I'm interested in, the ones with both the metal top handle and the metal ID plate) that I'm aware of, the one in the E-bay link and another, somewhat more elaborate one. I kinda preferred the latter.

Also, I noticed that the E-bay one isn't the usual Model #5. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say for sure, but perhaps it's even older than the ones I've been keeping any eye out for. I haven't decided whether that's good/bad, and then too the one on E-bay is awfully ratty and I dunno how well the guys at CycloToolmakers could (mechanically) refurbish it .

Heh heh, just what I need, a Cyclo collection :o

my grandfather had one, and it looked brand new, the chrome never wore off or tarnished.

that one just looks abused.

sometimes, guys try and fix the casting errors and that's what happens.

It's polished aluminum so it should be able to be polished back to look new.
