Viking Waffle Weave

I picked up a Viking waffle weave microfiber drying towel at the local Kragen, and maybe its just me, but this towel seems very stiff! It has no plushness at all. I can't really tell if its inducing scratching on my finish because my car is already swirled, but it just doesn't feel like it would be good. Does anyone know where I can pick up a SOFT waffle weave drying towel locally (Bay Area)? I haven't seen anything OTC that really seems good. I looked at the ones an pakshak, and they seem to be exactly what I'm looking for, however I don't want to spend $10 shipping a $12 towel.

get one of these instead, k-mart also carries it. this mf drying towel is as good as they come....

I can grab one of those for sure. I was hoping to find a waffle weave just because of its extra water holding ability, but its not the end of the world to get that either. Thanks!
 
patrick at exceldetail has some ultra-soft waffle weaves (i only use the very soft ww's, not the hard ones), and they look identically the same to the cg's one i have but for $4 cheaper (i paid $14.95 and patrick has them for $10.99). he has honest shipping charges and won't charge you more than is needed, and did i mention EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! give him a call! since you're in the bay area, you would probably get an order fairly quickly...

I use the gold Viking towel as my final drying step (a WW to get most of the water/ONR off and then the gold towel for any left over moisture). Very soft.



Sorry, don't have any input on the WW in question. I wish I could find it locally to try it out!
 
I would be thrilled to buy one of the exceldetail monterey towels, but its $9.00 shipping at exceldetail too. I guess I just won't be able to enjoy having a waffle weave until the next time I make a bigger online purchase.
 
For a really soft waffle weave mf towel, I recommend the Sonus Ultimate Drying Towel, on sale (3 for $24) right now at bettercarcare.com. I was looking to purchase the monterrey towels from Patrick the other night, but with so little in my order, the shipping charges killed the deal.



Shipping from bettercarcare or autopia-carcare.com is a bit more reasonable. Plus, they ship from San Diego so you should receive your item in 1-2 days being that you're in the Bay area.

I use Megs Ultimate Drying Towel where you can get at your local Kragen store. It works good to me. Just a tip when drying your car, IMO, you would get less microscratch if you would not rub your towel in your car. I actually put my towel on top of a water beading and let your towel suck those waters. Apply with very lite pressure, just enough to remove water. Then at the end I use Megs MF towel for drying. I know it sounds that you'll spend more time , but IMO its worthed especially if you really want to avoid any micro scratch. By the way Megs MF towel in Kragen, they have in a package(3 MF towels) for about 10 bucks.

i just purchased these drying towels from bettercarcare. they are great towels!
 
im using the simoniz extra large drying towel, seems to work great for me, any one else use these? and are they safe for the surface
