Victoria Wax

It looks good but I have seen some recent Souveran results that look even better on trucks. Probably a decent quality wax.

Wow...this VW I see has really stirred up the dust around here!

I was able to use this wax some time ago and I really like it. I was also recently sent by the Victoria Wax people some of their paint cleanser which works on the same principle as the wax. Apply it by hand.

It does not contain abrasives that will remove scratches or oxidation but it does a great job in "clean" paint prep. Very much like P21S or Pinnacles "Paintwork Cleansing Lotions".

The VW application is unique but it also makes sense in that a sponge like material may absorb much of the solvents that aide in paint gloss and also ease of removal....but with that same logic one must question if it, or any carnauba paste wax can be truly layered. The age old theory is that the solvents in the wax will degrade the previous layer. My favorite paste wax, Trade Secret, has talc powder in it, as do many paste waxes, and these talcs acts as "cleaners" to a certain degree. Not enough of a cleaner to remove polishes and glazes but rather designed to remove or absorb excess oils on the paint.

This is one reason why I don't layer my waxes, the other is I just don't have the time.

All in all VW is a great paste wax, either by hand or sponge applicator, it gives great gloss and wetness factor with average durability. If you wish a great pre-wax cleaner then their Lite-Cleanse (I think that's the name) is a great choice also.

I have recently been contacted by another company to test out a new polymer/acrylic system, which is said to rival the Klasse Twins. I am looking forward to this.

It seems I am doing as much testing of new products as I am detailing....if I could only get paid for the testing :ticked

Ah! Money would just take the fun out of it. :brick

"This is one reason why I don't layer my waxes, the other is I just don't have the time."

I see your logic Anthony but in my experience 2 layers of either Souveran or P21S can add some gloss and overall quality. It probably means that Souveran and P21S do not interfere with the first layer of wax so maybe its a chemical composition issue.

Just a quick note and update.

The VW, while providing a great looking finish...very impressive in fact, it doesn't seem to have a long life in the area of durability.

Now durability is not an issue for the anal enthusiasts as they prefer dazzling looks which the VW delivers in abundance.

I would like to experiment more with the VW and various base products but time at the moment doesn't allow it and as for the "hands" application....well my hands are so rough and eaten up because of the weather that I would be worried I was marring the paint!! :)

Next car I do with VW I will be sure to post up pictures.

Anthony,

How much durability are you getting with Victoria?

6-8 weeks would be good for me...may be even 4 if looks were terrific.

Yep . . . that's almost as old as the birthday boy!

Still it's nice to see a lot of names we haven't seen for quite awhile . . . wonder where they are now?? :hmmm:
If you're one of them & you are reading this :howdy . . . drop a note & let us know how you're doing.

Hi Jared & Norah. Yes things do come back from the archives. It was a different time and detailing forums had just found their stride. It would be nice Norah if you could talk Dwayne
into having a good old Christmas gathering. We would be happy to contribute some mystery detailing packages as door prizes. Nice to see old things come back every once in a while, brings back great memories. David Sr. & David J.

Hey guys! It's good to see you stick your noses in every once in a while! Hope everything is going well with you and Victoria Wax!
