Victoria Wax Red Concours Wax Durability

Well I've been doing an endurance test on my personal vehicle to see how long it lasts. I got the paint close to perfect and waxed it back Thursday, December 25, 2008, 4:47:04 PM that the photos were created. It finally stopped beading evenly after i washed it today. I think the weather had alot to do with it because it has been very cold and that wax will evaporate in summer weather. I'm going to reapply tomorrow to see just how long it lasts again.

Nice little writeup. 3.5 months isnt bad. Did you have any glazes or oily products under it?



Itl be interesting to see how long it lasts in the summer
 
I was reading about a similar test over on Detailing World and maybe Bence can remember it too.

It profiled about 8 or 10 top waxes on the side of a motorhome and surprisingly Vic Concours lasted a whole lot longer than many of the famous brands noted for their longevity. It even lasted longer than 845 if memory serves.



It's interesting that your test and the British one confirm its good staying power.

The truck looks really good, and I'm always a bit partial to red. :)

Well I was just curious and being as how they talk so much on this forum about the other waxes i'd figure i would test it. I was suckered into the simple the description was on the container and online and hoped that there were no smoke and mirrors. pretty happy.
 
Those "wet" shots show a complete absence of wax- what did your previous washings look like in comparison, and how recent were they?



In other words, I don't know if I would call it 3.5 months durability since it was clearly already gone by today.
 
If the water film breaks up reliably, there is still something protective on the surface.



My NXT paste was similer to this on an Accord at the 4 month mark. The water just pooled on the surface. But when it started to evaporate and got thinner, it suddenly broke up indicating that the polymers were still working.
 
IMO the post wash rinse can give you all sorts of miss readings, depending on what car shampoo can easily effect rinse. Optimum Car Wash and ONR anyone!



NXT is one that can leave it looking you have no LSP when you rinse.



Wash car and rinse, take a soft MF towel, punsh it up and gently "turn" it against the surface of the car. If you hear squeaking you probably he no protection. Do it in a couple of tests spots to be sure.
