Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a wax that fits my budget and these two comes to mind. Which one do have you guys tried and like? I would really like to see some pictures. Please provide as detailed information as possible if it is a love or hate thing kind of relationship. I would really like to know from the experience guys who detail. Thank you for talking the time out to read this post.

What colour nare you working with? I've used both Victoria waxes and a wide range of the Swissvax waxes including Onyx, Saphir, Best of Show and Mystery...

For me: Victoria wax produces a very glossy shine, and gives paint a liquid look... one of the glossiest waxes I have used. Not the wettest though, so I tend to use over a glaze like Megs #7 and this delivers a superb combination of wettness and deep gloss. Layered (3) Concours gives a beautiful deep gloss and lasts quiote well too (> 2 months). Couple of pics of Lite Cleanse followed by Victoria:

Swissvax: signature of the look of these for me is the wettness of the shine. They provide good depth too, but its the wettness that stands out. Onyx for me isn't the best wax, Victoria Concours beats it, but if you're willing to step up the Swissvax range to Saphir wax then this is superb. Two layers of it gives great durability and a beautiful wet and deep shine that really stands out for me. Decent durability too, a couple of pics of Saphir in action:

A big jump up in price is Swissvax Best of Show, but this is one of my favourite all time waxes owing to a sheer wet look combined with excellent depth and gloss - it delivers everything I want from a carnuaba looks wise and lasts well too... best when used in two layers as this tightens up the beading and gives a deeper shine... BoS on a pair of Ferrari 355s...

And BoS on my car:

Hope thats useful. :)

Thank You Dave!

Nice pictures! as my wife comes home I have something to show her before the order!

The colors I am working with is Black, White and Red.

I wan't trying to be a wiss-***, in the first Ferrari pic it looks like the closer car has defects in the paint.

Maybe it's just how it look on my laptop computer, obviously it must look fine to everyone else so ignore what I said......

Perhaps its the lighting in the garage? There is very light pitting in the finish in a couple of places, but thats pretty natural for the bonnet area of these cars....

Dave, beautiful photography of some beautiful cars. That tree reflection shot off your car is just gorgeous.

I always enjoy seeing such superb work from someone that takes detailing to such an art form.

Here's a silver sample. Victoria Lite Cleanse followed with 4 coats of Victoria Wax Red Concours. Bare hand application. Wax was refrigerated after opening. First two coats were applied 24hrs apart from each other. 3rd coat a week after. 4th coat a week after the 3rd. Photo below was taken 2 weeks after the 4th coat was applied.

Beads very, very well. Sheeting is around average I would say, if not below that. :)

I have used, and continue to do so, VW Concours Wax. I think it is a very fine carnauba wax with high gloss and a deep look. It is not as slick as some other LSP's I've used, but other than that it is one of my favorites. Also, David Wyllie and Co. are a pleasure to deal with.

Concorso was the original formula,Best of show is an updated version, has slightly less oil content. The scent and color are different to concorso also.
